THE 7 BEST ESSENTIAL OILS FOR MEN

Do you wonder which essential oils work best for men? How guys use essential oils? Which essential oils have the most manly smells? Or how, as a male, you can start using aromatherapy more regularly?

Essential oils are natural alternatives for supporting overall feelings of well-being. Males and females generally have different scent preferences, and different ailments and home remedy needs.

This article helps you decide which oils a guy should have a closer look at,to feel better in a natural way. I’ve chosen the 7 best essential oils for you to start with. And none of them are Lavender! 😉

1. VETIVER

Vetiver is really popular among men because of its smell. The earthy, balmy and the perfect sweet and spicy smell is often used in masculine colognes. It’s great for diffusing in the evening or when combating stress or anxiety.

Vetiver oil is also great for skin! It’s amazing at reducing blemishes and spots, toning and tightening.

As a man, you may not fuss around with having a skin-care regime as much. Still, you’d be surprised to see just how a little extra TLC shown to your skin can yield excellent results. Especially if you commit to using them every day.

Incorporate Vetiver essential oil into your skin care routine for an all-natural boost of your skin health.

Other notable fatty oils (these are different than essential oils!) that can be used for face care are Argan and Grapeseed. Packed with fatty acids and antioxidants, these base oils can be used as a part of the pre-shave or after-shave regime. They lubricate the skin in a perfect way so that the razor blade glides easily, giving an amazing clean shave with no razor cuts at all. Used after the shave, they help moisturize without clogging pores.

Combine 2 tsp of Grapeseed or Argan oil with 6 drops of Vetiver essential oil. Use as a pre-shave moisturizer or after-shave skin soother.

2. COPAIBA

Another s champion, Copaiba is a very manly essential oil. It has a warm and balanced scent that isn’t overpowering. It’s another good choice for diffusing or rubbing into the soles of your feet before bedtime for extra relaxation.

If you use a beard oil or morning moisturizer, enhance them with a drop or two of Copaiba essential oils.

The direct application to the epidermis can boost your skin cell health. And the inhalation of the fragrances aids your emotional well-being.

3. CHAMOMILE

Many people, men included, can have trouble sleeping at night. Common sources of insomnia are stress and anxiety related. Essential oils can help center and get you back to a calmer state of mind.

Use Chamomile essential oil for overall better health and well-being.

Chamomile oil is a really good choice for inducing that calm feeling for men. Try a hot steam bowl to breathe in some chamomile steam. Or, simply dilute chamomile with a carrier oil and apply it topically to the temples of your head and back of your neck. Use 1 teaspoon of carrier oil and add 4 drops of Chamomile oil before hitting bed to experience the best possible sleep.

4. PEPPERMINT

Peppermint oil has a very refreshing fragrance. If you have an afternoon presentation to deliver and want to be at your sharpest and most alert, take some deep whiffs of this amazing essential oil. Peppermint essential oil is also known for almost instant relief from headaches. Kick-start your day anytime by keeping Peppermint oil handy.

Use Peppermint to improve focus and fight headaches

The easiest way to apply Peppermint oil quickly, is in a roll-on bottle blend. Simply roll it on to your temples to aid a headache or to improve focus. Ensure that the mixture doesn’t get into your eyes.

5. BLACK PEPPER

Black Pepper essential oil is a great companion for pain relief and fighting inflammation. It does have a pretty strong smell and therefore works best in a blend. Lavender always works great in a blend to balance out any stronger aromas.

For sore muscles, the perfect application is an essential oils massage. Apply the oils over the achy area and rub them in. It will allow the essential oils to absorb directly through the skin, reduce inflammation in the muscles, plus it will provide additional time to bond and spend quality time together with your partner.

Make sure essential oils are diluted with a carrier oil and at appropriate percentages. If you like your DIY massage oil, prepare a larger amount and keep it handy to use regularly.

6. CEDARWOOD

Cedarwood esssential oil smells warm, herbaceous, earthy, and grounding. Cedarwood also promotes feelings of confidence and self-esteem. It is a base note in aromatherapy and often used in blending. In some ways, it is similar to Vetiver.

For men, Cedarwood is a great oil to use before exercise. It can provide an extra boost of energy, and promote wellness and vitality.

Alternately, you can opt to make these quick and easy muscle-soothing essential oil bath salts. Add them to the bathtub after rigorous exercise.

7. TEA TREE

Tea tree essential oil has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. With that, it can really help get rid of bad smells.

Whether it is stinky shoes that you want to tackle or you have bigger fish to fry, tea tree essential oil is great at removing unpleasant smells no matter what their source may be.

For fresh smelling socks and shoes, put a few drops of tea tree on some cotton balls and keep them inside your shoes.

If you cannot tolerate your house smelling nasty, get a diffuser to help.

Also: you can diffuse in your car!

FINAL THOUGHTS

Essential oils are not just for women. Men can benefit just as much.

Even if you are using just starting out, you can reap benefits from using essential oils relatively quickly. Incorporating even just one of them in your lifestyle can be a really smart move.

It’s important to choose an oil that also smells pleasant to you, to help with the aches or discomforts in your body. Oils have an element of personal choice attached to them, and we do have to honor our scent preferences!

If you are using essential oils for the first time, it’s a good idea to test for allergic reactions. Try the essential oil you plan to use on a small patch of skin first before applying it liberally. Additionally, if you have any health conditions, always check with your doctor first and ask how safe it would be for you to use an essential oil. Always do your research and homework before starting anything for the first time.
