Post Halloween Skincare

When you go crazy with the Halloween makeup, going all out to become your character of choice, you put your skin through the wringer with caked on makeup! To keep your skin looking and feeling fresh, treat your skin to a spa day to refresh and revitalize.

Step One: Cleanse

It’s important that as soon as you’re done trick or treating the night away, you wash your face thoroughly with a clarifying facial cleanser. Look for a cleanser that is specifically meant to clean out clogged pores and cleanse the skin of dirt and toxins found in many makeup products.

Step Two: Tone

Apply a lightweight toner like Moroccan Rose Water to tighten and smooth the skin. When pores are clogged with makeup, they can appear larger and get inflamed with irritated. A toner helps to deep cleanse and to minimize the appearance of pores. Plus, rose water is natural and vegan, so it’s safe for sensitive skin.

Step Three: Moisturize

Halloween makeup can be very drying on its own. Add in all the cleansing products needed to remove it and your skin will be dehydrated and dry. Moisturize with a thin but powerful cream like this retinol moisturizer. Retinol helps to prevent pre-mature signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles that can be exaggerated by makeup.

Step Four: Oil

Natural oils have been used as skincare for centuries because of their naturally hydrating and soothing properties. Apply rosehip oil to smooth the skin, reduce blemishes, and minimize redness and irritation from layers of Halloween makeup. If your skin seems especially irritated, you can add in a few drops of lavender essential oil to your rosehip oil for a boost of soothing properties.
