DIY Sea Salt and Essential Oil Shampoo

Have you ever tried making your own homemade Shampoo and Conditioner? If you haven’t, you definitely need to give it a try. It’s super easy! Today I’m going to share with you how to make your own shampoo with a few simple ingredients. And yes, you probably already have these staple Radha Beauty products in your bathroom cabinet or vanity.

How does natural shampoo work?

This DIY features key ingredients that are known to promote healthy locks. Sea salt helps you easily achieve more volume and gorgeous, tousled waves. The abundance of antioxidants in fractionated coconut oil is also ideal for hydrating dry, heat damaged hair. Jojoba oil helps to moisturize the scalp and can help with dandruff. Rosemary oil helps to stimulate hair growth and prevents premature graying. And lastly, lavender oil helps to deep condition the hair and keeps it looking shiny and healthy.

Although homemade shampoo made with castile soap looks watery after you make it, trust me, pour a small amount into your hand and rub together. You will quickly see just how much lather it creates. A little bit goes a long way.

Sea Salt & Essential Oil Shampoo

Ingredients:

Directions

Warm the water up in the microwave for at least 30 seconds. Next, add a ½ cup of Castile Soap and blend gently. Then, add all of the remaining ingredients and mix well. Finally, pour into recycled shampoo bottle.

Storage

We recommend keeping your bottle in a cool, dark place. Be sure to keep the cap tightly closed. You may also store in a refrigerated or a cool, dry location. Keep away from sunlight.

Vinegar Natural Conditioner Rinse

You can also create our homemade Hair Conditioner with two simple ingredients: vinegar and water. Vinegar re-balances the pH of your hair, leaving it smoother and shinier. A rinse will also help remove any excess soap residue. We recommend a 1:1 ratio or half and half (you can experiment to see if a different concoction works for you). For storage, place your mixture in a recycled conditioner bottle. For best results, allow the mixture to sit for at least 30 minutes before applying. Be sure to shake the bottle when you are ready to use.

As with all DIYs and natural products, we recommend doing a patch test. Everyone's skin reacts differently to different products. We suggest doing a patch test first. Before you start to use a new product, place a small amount on the inside of your elbow or wrist and wait 48 to 72 hours. If you do not notice irritation, redness, or swelling on that spot, it is okay for you to use.
