When I was young, I heard people talk about aging but never thought about how it’d feel. Looking at my elders, I would imagine wrinkles and sagging skin but at that time, I wasn’t aware of things I could do to help prevent this. Unaware of ways to avoid wrinkles and sagging skin, I’d stand in the mirror, pulling at my cheeks, accepting my fate, and preparing for what I’d look like as an older woman.
Thankfully, at thirty years old, I still get carded! I don’t have wrinkles yet but as I consider life and aging, I am becoming more focused on anti-aging and wellness. I’d always been interested in wellness but as we age, it is natural for our bodies to age along with us. I like to be proactive in my approach to wellness and aging.
Eating for health, rest, and physical activity is a necessity if you want to live a long life you enjoy. Looking good is great but I always remind myself that it all starts inside. I eat natural foods, drink lots of water, and I make sure to get enough rest and exercise.
When it comes to what I eat, I mainly stick to an Ayurvedic diet. In Ayurveda, i’d be considered a mixture of two Doshas. There are three three body types or Doshas in the Ayurvedic practice. These are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. You can be one of or a combination of two different Doshas. You can take a quiz online to see which you might be but talking to an Ayurvedic physician would be best.
Knowing your dosha can let you know which foods are best for your body type. I drink a lot of coconut water and eat lots of leafy greens, mangoes, and freshwater fish. I eat whole grains and avoid alcohol and sodas. I eat for my body type and it works!
Along with eating for wellness, I moisturize. I am embracing aging but I make sure to include retinol in my skincare regimen. Have you ever tried retinol or a product that contains retinol?
Retinol is like a concentrated form of Vitamin A. The Radha Beauty Retinol Anti-Aging Cream has retinol. I use it often and it feels amazing. It keeps my skin supple and soft! This is thanks to retinoic acid.
Retinoic acid helps to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. This acid also helps skin stay hydrated while fading scars and sun spots. The Radha Beauty Retinol Anti-Aging Cream has helped to even out my complexion and helped clear up some minor acne I was experiencing.
When I cleanse my face at night, I use the Radha Organics Refreshingly Clean Cleanser. I pat my skin dry after cleansing but leave it a little moist. Beauties, pat dry and softly rub your face. The muscles in our face are delicate. Treat them with care.
After I pat my skin dry, I apply my Radha Beauty Retinol Anti-Aging Cream. I prefer to use any Retinol skin care products at night because retinol can make your skin more sensitive to UV rays. While I like keeping my skin looking and feeling young, I’m not willing to risk sunburn for this.
Let me know what you use for anti-aging and healthy aging! Try my regimen and let me know how it works for you.
Remember to pat dry and always moisturize.
In love and light,
